What do to if you are visiting Steelers country? Well I have three suggestions Pittsburg Mills Mall, Alexandria’s Tea room and Angelic’s Needful Things
Pittsburg Mill Mall is a nice addition to the Mills family of outlet malls. They have very thing from Jillian’s bar/restaurant to an IMAX movie theater. It’s very clean and not as crowed and many other Mills malls tend to be. If you truly bleed BLACK and GOLD – visit one of the sports stores for your team’s memorabilia they have Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates (and the other team too) merchandise abounding. The newest thing I seen this time was the glow in the dark Mini Golf. I wasn’t able to go in this time because we had to leave but my next visit we are going to make a play date to do that with the family.
This was our second trip to Alexandria’s Tea room. When I was making the reservations I was told that the owner Nancy was not going to be there because she had other obligations. I was a little sad by that because she was such a joy the first time that we were looking forward to her hospitality again. We decided to make a reservations anyway because we so loved her location and selection of teas. To our surprise when we arrived for our appointed Tea time – we were greeted by none other than lovely Nancy.
She went over the seasons selections for the season’s teas and she let us know they now have a new cook that was in charge of all the savories and desserts. Nancy has a garden on the premises and they incorporate what they grow into the food they serve so everything is fresh and organic. Everything was delicious. After we ate, I took some photos for the blog and I went upstairs and looked around the gift shop. There are lots of interesting trinkets and this year I picked up some really nice candle holders and a painted bottle for my homemade dressing.
Great Teas. Great Conversation. Great people. Alexandria’s Tea Room should be on everyone’s to-do list. It’s the softer side of Steelers Country.
Angelic’s Needful Things is a antiques and collectable shop that just opened in Tarentum. This place has a range of collectables that will make great souvenirs ideas for anyone with particular taste for antiques. If you like antique Boats, Angelic’s Needful Things has a large selection.
