Hong Kong International Airport: The first and last stop.

This airport is fairly new  in Hong Kong , as the previous location was very close to skyscrapers before – for safety the moved the complex out to  Lantau Island.  It’s one of the better International airports I’ve been to. Signs in English and various other languages made it easy to get around. Still once outside trying to talk to the older taxi guy to get to my hostel didn’t go so smooth but I did get help and got to my destination fine after that. Flying over Hong Kong on the way in is spectacular.  Seeing all the buildings from the plane, feels like your landing in a post card.  The major feature of this building is that it’s built to look like an Origami bird on the inside. After the long flight over the Pacific Ocean this Airport was very welcoming. Depending on how long you have to be there between flight will determine how much you get to experience fully all the airport has to offer.  If you are one track minded at the airport or just plain running late you may miss this little jewel on Lantau. I say take a second look around and enjoy your first breath of Hong Kong air and get some duty free while you’re at it!
